A gift to you.

Seconds after my thoughts focused on that game, Dennis came out to announce Samaras scored a goal. Appropriate gift to you, delivered by all but none, the Greek player in the Celtic squad. Suited the source of the consciousness event, reminiscent to me of the similar events that led to the Greek National team winning the European Championship in Portugal, in 2004.

So, so much of, for the much tantalized saying, of beware of Greeks bearing gifts.

New shouts, and the gift got consolidated, Samaras in front of the Rangers goal-keeper for a penalty kick, amply converting the offense to a 2-0 lead.

Samaras vilified. And all that because the man is not played properly. Instead of playing the man properly, based by knowing what he can do, and according to that, play him in the squad. Do not ask him to deliver what he can not afford. Use him for what he is best at and not what he lacks. He shows that when he is played well, he knows how to bring up the goods, to score goals. And his performance tonight proves that he does not get scared, virtually unshaken by the emotional weight any game brings on.

Staying with Celtic or not? Connected with what Samaras can achieve as a player? It should not be so much, a dilemma for Samaras, as it should be for Celtic. The player should overcome any un-needed, un-necessary dent in his confidence, wrongly applied. Steadfast in his determination to succeed, should brush aside all the hubris and concentrate in his game. The game that he knows how to play.
